Get up India

Let's be honest.

We don't look forward to 26th January or any other national holiday because it's Republic Day, Independence Dat, Gandhiji's birthday etc. We wait for it because it's one more day we can wake up late. One more day when we can keep the curtains drawn, pull the warm blankets a little tighter for a little longer, no alarms.... Today, things. can. wait.

And while we doze, we never realize that as a country, we've been sleeping far too long already. We are today a nation swaggering on the promise of what we could be, a superpower, an economic giant, a huge cultural force. But as long as we sleep, all we will do is dream.

This is not the day to roll around in bed but the time to roll up our sleeves. Because no matter what the parades indicate, the might of a nation does not lie in its ballistic missiles and all terrain tanks. It lies in the will of its people.

Get up India. Rise and shine.
